As the Internet has become an integral part of most people's lives in the world, tech giants are taking various steps to prioritize the security of every user.
A few months back, it was said that all tech giants providing social media services would have to submit a monthly report as per the security norms of the IT Act. Every month they have to provide complete details about the complaints registered by the users and the actions taken by the companies in the complaint report. After that every month all social media platforms including Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter are providing monthly report. It has been revealed that 2.7 crore posts have been deleted from Meta's subsidiaries Facebook and Instagram.

Of these, 1.73 crore posts were spam posts and 23 lakh posts were graphical content that could incite violence. Apart from that, the complaints raised against such records and the action taken based on it were detailed in the report. With this, Meta Company has released a statement that 100%, all complaints have been considered and action taken.
Following the removal of spam posts, the complained posts were removed in various categories including posts expressing hate, nudity, violence, sexual content. Of these, 27 posts contained nudity content and 2.3 lakh posts were violent in nature.
Also, nearly 9 lakh posts on Instagram were about suicide and self-harm, the company said. More than 22,000 posts contained hateful content and 3.7 lakh posts, including photos and videos, were found to contain nudity and sexual content and were removed.
On the one hand, these companies are actively trying to detect and remove such records and are also taking action on user complaints. Similarly, Meta has requested users to report such logs regularly as per IT rules.
